Cosmic Sand

Cosmic Sand is José Pedro Barbosa (Apophis), a Portuguese Dj/Producer passionate about 80?s Disco Electronica and Electro Trash with a touch of Classical Music. His career as a Dj/ Producer and crowd motivator started in 2010 and by the end of 2012 he had already released 3 official EPs as well as a bunch of free tracks.

The second half of 2012 found Cosmic Sand taking a turn in his sound and style. A turn that can definitely be considered as the next step in the musical evolution of the producer from Portugal. His most recent free EP “Route 375″ (on Trashbags) made it clear that Cosmic Sand was aiming at a more 80′s, future synth, italo-disco feel, mixed with that mystic, dark blade runner sound.

These are all styles he’s been working on in recent months and this is the new Cosmic Sand sound. Early 2013 finds Cosmic Sand with a new EP ready for release and “Breaking Point” is the perfect example and transition from the orchestral hard electro sound of the past to the new 80′s influenced, atmospheric Cosmic Sand style.
